TRAINING

At JANT GROUP, training’s our bread and butter—something we four, with 100 years of experience and one a nurse, have woven into every fiber of our CQC-regulated work in Luton and Bedfordshire. We’ve learned from decades of caring—our nurse schooling us in the art of a perfect bandage, the rest of us picking up tricks from years of keeping homes humming—and we’ve turned it into a program that’s as solid as a rock. Our carers don’t just dip a toe in—they dive headfirst into a sea of learning before they meet you, and we keep them swimming with updates to stay ahead of the tide. Let’s unpack it, love—it’s a tale worth telling!

It all kicks off with our induction—a grand affair where every carer gets the full works. First, there’s Manual Handling—they’ll practice lifting with a dummy ‘til they can do it in their sleep, making sure you’re moved like a feather, not a sack of spuds. Then Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults—they’ll learn to spot a shadow on your horizon, whether it’s a dodgy caller or a worry you can’t voice, and swoop in to shield you. Emergency First Aid is next—they’ll master the art of a quick bandage or a calming word if you’ve had a tumble, ready to steady the ship ‘til help arrives.

Health & Safety turns them into home detectives—checking for wobbly rugs, testing the smoke alarm, making sure your castle’s safe as houses. Food Hygiene has them scrubbing ‘til they gleam—chopping veg for a soup that’s safe and scrumptious, or baking a cake that’d pass a health inspector’s eye. Medication gets our nurse’s special touch—they’ll learn to sort your pills like a pharmacist, measure a dose with precision, and watch how you’re faring with a keen eye. Dementia training’s a gentle art—they’ll practice keeping your world steady, maybe laying out your slippers where you’ll find them or chatting about the old days to spark a smile. And Infection Control? They’ll banish bugs with a vengeance—wiping doorknobs, washing up, keeping your home a germ-free zone.

That’s the foundation, but we don’t stop there—they’re chasing NVQ II or III quals, piling on skills like bricks in a wall. Our nurse leads the charge, running workshops where they role-play real-life moments—lifting a client to the sofa, calming a dementia flare-up, or whipping up a meal under pressure. We bring in guest trainers too—experts who’ve seen it all—sharing the latest on epilepsy fits or palliative peace. Every few months, we gather them back—new tricks, new rules—so they’re always at the top of their game.

They’re ready for your world—whether it’s a quick visit to tidy your kitchen or a live-in gig keeping your days full. They’ll bring that training to life—spotting your love for crosswords and fetching the paper, or knowing your cat’s feeding time by heart. We’re here 365 days a year, with a 24/7 helpline at 01582 343 477 or 07944 297048 if they need a lifeline
