Come meet the JANT GROUP family, love—we’re a bunch you’ll want to pull up a chair for! At the helm are four of us, friends since the days when our hair wasn’t quite so silver, with 100 years of caring know-how between us. There’s our nurse, a dynamo with a stethoscope and a twinkle in her eye—she’s the one who’d dash through rain to deliver a baby or sit up with a feverish patient ‘til dawn. She’s got tales from her nursing days that’d fill a book, from stitching up a farmer’s hand to calming a nervous mum-to-be. Then there’s the rest of us—three women who’ve been the heartbeat of our streets, always with a kettle on and a spare blanket for anyone in need. We’ve rocked cradles, darned socks, and kept the home fires burning through thick and thin.
We’re the ones who dreamed up JANT GROUP one blustery afternoon, sipping tea and sketching out a vision on a napkin—care that’s warm, personal, and CQC-regulated, right here in Luton and Bedfordshire. But it’s our carers who bring it to life—they’re the sunshine in our story. We pick them for their hearts as much as their hands—folks who’ll greet you with a grin, ask about your day, and mean it. They’re the kind who’ll notice your shelf of old vinyls and spin a record, or spot your crossword half-done and grab a pencil to help.
Before they join us, they’re steeped in training—Manual Handling to lift you like you’re made of glass, Safeguarding to watch over you like a hawk, Emergency First Aid to patch you up in a pinch, Health & Safety to keep your home a fortress, Food Hygiene to cook like a chef, Medication to keep your pills perfect, Dementia to ease your mind, and Infection Control to banish every germ. They’ve got NVQ II or III quals (or they’re earning them), and we keep their skills fresh with regular top-ups—our nurse wouldn’t have it any other way!
They’re a talented lot—there’s Ellie, who’s got a voice like a lark and sings with her clients at the piano; Mike, who’s a wizard with a paintbrush and helps his lad sketch landscapes; and Jenny, who’s turned more than one garden into a blooming paradise with her green fingers. They’ve cared for all sorts—folks with autism who need a quiet routine, others with palliative needs who crave a soft touch, and some with epilepsy who rely on their sharp eyes. They’ll take you to the seaside for a day out, or sit knitting by your fire—whatever keeps your spirit soaring.
We’re here round the clock—365 days a year, with a 24/7 helpline and a base at A W House, 6-8 Stuart Street, Luton, LU1 2SJ. Our coordinators are the unsung heroes, juggling schedules so your carer’s always on time, whether it’s a quick visit or a live-in stay. We pay them well—good wages, kind words, and the odd batch of biscuits—because they’re the lifeblood of what we do. Soon, we’ll add supported living carers to the mix, helping folks build their own homes with a bit of our magic.
